Babylon was Singapore's first exclusively gaykaraoke pub.
It was set up set up during the height of the karaoke craze in the late 1980s by a well known pair of gay twins. Its address was 52 Tanjong Pagar Road; telephone number 6227-7466 and 6233-0305.
The pub was a narrow, miniature version of its legendary namesake - the gay sauna-entertainment complex in Bangkok, and the original Sumerian city. It was patronised by a young crowd of gay men who loved to sing.
The twin brother proprietors later opened Why Not? along Tras Street after the closure of Babylon.
